Android 11 is rolling out to unlocked Galaxy A20 units in the US

Well, it’s time for unlocked units as well. This update will bump up your firmware version to “A205U1UEU9CUH3”. This update comes with the August 2021 security patch, and it should land to all unlocked in a couple of weeks. This rollout is staged, which is the usual practice when it comes to downloads. Some of you may get it straight away, while others will have to wait a while. And no, you cannot speed up the process, unless you get the file and flash it on your phone. If you’re really impatient, you can check for the update manually, which is the fastest way to find out whether it’s available or not. Simply navigate to Settings -> Software update menu, and see what’s up. The phone will automatically let you know when the update is available, though. So, you really don’t have to go and check manually, unless you’re in a real hurry.

One UI 3.1 features are included, at least some of them

In addition to a new security patch, this update also brings a bevy of One UI 3.1 features that you’re probably familiar with by now. We don’t have all the details at the moment, but we’re guessing that most One UI 3.1 main features are available. In One UI 3.1, Samsung decluttered some menus, and improved Quick Toggles. Google Discover feed has been added to the home screen as well, giving you more choices. Google Messages became a native SMS app on One UI 3.1 as well. Some camera-related features have also been added, but we don’t know how many of those will be available on the Galaxy A20. Why? Well, because the Galaxy A20 is a budget smartphone that launched quite some time ago.
