Nokia announced a phone that has built-in truly wireless earbuds
That device’s name is the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio. And if the ‘Xpress’ part sounds familiar in the audio sense, when it comes to Nokia phones, that’s because this is supposed to be a spiritual successor to the Nokia Xpress Music phones. For those of you who don’t remember, the Nokia Xpress Music series was all about the audio. Arguably the most popular phone in the series was the Nokia 5310, with its physical buttons to control the music. Those buttons were actually located right next to the display. Well, the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio also has such buttons next to the display, in addition to something even more interesting. This phone comes with built-in truly wireless earbuds, which you can access from the back, as shown below.
If you slide the cover on the back downwards, the earbuds will reveal themselves to you. The phone, of course, acts as a charger for these earbuds, so they’ll always be ready to go. The Nokia 5710 XpressAudio is a candybar phone, this is not a smartphone. The company didn’t exactly share any specs in its press release, or its website, so we’re not sure what the specs of the device are. We do know it has stereo speakers, though. You can listen to an FM radio via this phone. The included earbuds can provide up to 4 hours of listening time, and 2.4 hours of talk time per charge. An audio jack is also present, of course.
The company also announced the Nokia 8210 4G & Nokia 2660 Flip
In addition to announcing the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio, HMD Global also presented the Nokia 8210 4G and Nokia 2660 Flip. These are also spiritual successors of the company’s iconic phones. The Nokia 8210 4G comes with a 2.8-inch display, and 4G VoLTE support. The company says that this phone has “weeks of standby battery”. It does resemble the good old Nokia 8210, one of Nokia’s most popular cellphones of all time.
The Nokia 2660 Flip is a flip phone, as its name says. It is hearing aid compatible, and has great battery life. It also includes large buttons, and has a dedicated emergency button. Pressing that button will notify five contacts of an accident or whatever happens. This handset is obviously aimed mainly at the older population who may need some of its features. Its inner display measures 2.8 inches, while the outer one measures 1.77 inches. It is worth noting that Nokia also announced a new tablet, which we covered separately.
