These are the first test builds for Samsung‘s 2022 foldables. As the development proceeds, we could see more such test builds surface. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 sometime in August or early September. The Galaxy Watch 5 series should accompany the foldable duo. The first stable software build for the devices should be One UI 4.1.1. Samsung has already confirmed that it is working on this minor update for its custom Android skin. One UI 4.1.1 is still based on Android 12, though. The Korean firm will introduce One UI 5.0 with Android 13, which arrives in the stable channel this fall. There’s no telling yet what new features and/or changes One UI 4.1.1 will bring to Samsung devices. A moderator on the company’s community forums in South Korea recently revealed that the upcoming One UI update will fix an issue with the Wonderland module of the Good Lock suite for the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Apart from this, One UI 4.1.1 could contain some foldable-specific enhancements that could trickle down to older Fold and Flip series phones. Generic features, if any, may also roll out to other Galaxy devices with OTA (over the air) updates. The One UI version may remain unchanged for them, though. Android 13-based One UI 5.0, which comes just a few months after One UI 4.1.1, will contain a lot more exciting goodies.
