If you have a Pixel phone and you prioritize your Personal Safety, then this app is definitely something you should look into. It’s a general hub for all types of health and safety-centric features. You can store personal health data like your allergies, medications, blood type, Etc. Also, this app is home to the car crash detection feature. Also, this app can be really useful in the event of an emergency. By pressing the power button five times in a row, the phone will share your location with your emergency contacts and give you the option to call 911 from one screen. This is just in the case you find yourself in a dangerous situation.

The Personal Safety app is making its way to more devices

While Google does share most of the new Android features with other manufacturers, it does keep a few features for its Pixel phones. This exclusivity does help push people to buy Google’s phones. The Personal Safety app was one of them, but that’s changing, according to XDA Developers. This app is coming to more phones running Android 13, but there’s a limited list at the moment. This list includes the Nothing phone (1). As for Vivo, it’s coming to the Vivo x80 Pro, Vivo x90, and Vivo x90 Pro. Moving over to Sony, the Xperia 5 IV and Xperia 1 IV are getting the app. The OEM with the most phones getting this feature is iQoo. The app is coming to the iQoo 7, 8 Pro, 9 SE, 9 Pro, 9T, I2202, 11, and Neo 7. While these devices are getting the Personal Safety app, they will not be getting the car crash detection. It’s possible for other OEMs to implement it, but it requires some hoops to jump through. They need to enable Android’s Contacts Hub for the future. Doing that will require a system update.
