Microsoft Teams has new 3D emojis

Sometimes, the last place you want to think about emoji is while in a serious business conference. Regardless, Microsoft saw fit to revamp the over 1,800 emoji present in Microsoft Teams. It doesn’t seem that the company is adding in any new emoji; it’s just giving the preexisting ones a 3-dimensional pop. A Microsoft Teams member, Kaushal Mehta, explains that there won’t be any changes to the emoji with multi-skin tone emoji. They will all come with the same six skin tones as with the previous version. Not only are the emoji more 3D in Microsoft Teams, but some of them will actually be animated. That should add flair and style to your meetings (well, if they don’t get you in trouble with your boss). You will be able to place these emoji in live meetings, in chat, and in channels. Right now, this feature is in preview, which means that you will need to enable them to see them. Simply go to your settings and go to the “About” option. From there, go to the preview section and enable the 3D emoji. Since they are in preview, it’s possible that Microsoft will change them at some point, but it’s not likely.

Unfortunately, Windows 11 still has the 2D emoji

There are probably all of three people in the world waiting on this, but Microsoft promised that there would be 3D emoji coming to Windows 11. Right now, the Fluent-style emoji that are present in Windows 11 are still the old 2D style. We’re not sure just when we’ll see these new 3D emoji for Windows 11, but since they’re already live in Microsoft Teams, it shouldn’t be too long before it reaches Windows 11.

In Other Windows 11 News: over 1.000 apps are coming to Windows 11

A lot of people are still waiting for Windows 11 to officially deliver Android apps as promised. The platform launched over 130 days ago, and you can only try out apps if you’re running the beta version of Windows 11, which most people don’t want to do.
