A few days back, Motorola unveiled the Edge 20 Pro alongside the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Lite smartphones. Earlier this year, the company launched the Motorola Edge S powered by the Snapdragon 870 Mobile Platform in China. With the upcoming Edge S Pro, the company is expected to offer the same Snapdragon 8-series chipset.

Motorola Edge S Pro could be the rebranded Edge 20 Pro

The teaser shared by the company on Weibo, the Chinese social networking website, confirm the device to be slim and lightweight. It will measure 6.99mm in thickness and weighs just 163 grams. Apparently, the device will also support 5G connectivity. While there is no mention of the exact camera specs of this device, the company has shared that the device will offer a 50X zoom. From the teaser images, the device sports three vertically-aligned cameras on the rear. The Motorola Edge S Pro would come with a triple camera setup featuring a 108-megapixel primary sensor. It will also feature an 8-megapixel periscope-style telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom and 50x hybrid zoom. Finally, there will also be a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor along with macro photography capabilities. Just like the Edge 20 Pro, the Motorola Edge S Pro could also sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and center punch-hole cutout for an immersive viewing experience. On the front, the Edge S Pro is expected to offer the same 32-megapixel selfie camera as seen on the Edge 20 Pro. While the device will be powered by Android 11, it will be running on custom skin with no Google services. It would feature a 4500mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. When compared to the Edge S, the Pro moniker seems to offer upgrades in every segment. It will support the newly launched “Ready For” functionality that works just like Samsung’s DeX. For the confirmed specifications of this upcoming device, you have to wait until Thursday. In order to compete with the local Chinese players, Motorola might price its new device very aggressively.
