Luckily, it isn’t hard to find these details. Even still, if you wanted a little assistance in navigating to it, this guide is here to help. And once you get to it the first time it’ll become second nature. So let’s dive into it. But first, let’s discuss a few reason why you might want to see your play time.

Why access play time for your games on the PS5?

Well, first and foremost, you might want to access your play time just because you want to satisfy your own general curiosity. Maybe you’ve always wondered how much you’ve dumped into that one game you seem to login to on an almost daily basis. Or, maybe you know you’ve been spending a lot of time in one particular game. So you’re trying to cut that down. But to do that you have to first know what you’re current times are. Maybe you have a friend who plays the same game and insists they’ve played more than you. All of these are reasons why you might want to access your total play time. And it’s kind of a cool feature to have. It certainly puts things into perspective.

How to show your play time for all games

First, make sure you’ve spent any amount of time in games on the PS5. Naturally, if you’ve just gotten one then you probably won’t have logged any hours yet. However, your total play time will be listed for your PS4 games too. As long as they’re tied to the same PSN account as the one on your PS5.

Hit the PlayStation button on the DualSense controller

What you want to do first is hit the PlayStation button on the DualSense controller. This brings up the command center at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll to your avatar

Once you have the command center up, scroll to your avatar. Then click on that to bring up its immediate list of interactions. You should see one in there for “profile” specifically. That’s what you want.

Click on Profile

By clicking on profile you’ll be taken to your profile page for the PlayStation Network. You’ll see your avatar and gamertag up top. Then below that, an overview of your profile that includes trophies earned, how many friends you have, and how many games you own.

Click on the Games tab

Next to overview there will be a tab for the games you have linked to your account. Click on that tab to bring up a list of all of your games. On this screen you’ll find the total amount of play time you have for each title. If you can’t find it, the total play time will be sitting right below the title of each game. Next to how long ago you recently played that particular game.

You can see your friends’ PS5 play time too

If you’re curious to see how many hours your friends have put into their games, you can see that information as well.

Click on your avatar from the command center or the top right of the homescreen

You’ll start by heading to the same area you did for finding your own personal play time.

Go to the Friends tab

Instead of hitting games like you did for yourself, click on the Friends tab. This will bring up a list of all your friends on PSN.

Click on any friend to bring up their individual stats

Lastly, click on the friend you’re trying to see the details for. Once you do, you can then click on their games tab to bring up the last time they played and what their total play time is. And that’s basically it. It’s a quick and easy way to see which games you’re playing the most and what that amount of hours is.
