Anyways, this beta doesn’t bring about a lot of new features or changes. Google is now in the “Platform Stability” phase of Android 12. Which means that we are looking at a more polished version of Android 12. Google is working to fix any and all bugs that it can find, before it releases it in about a month’s time. This means that all API’s are now final. And developers can start updating their apps for Android 12, and publishing them in the Play Store. This is good news, as developers now know that these will not change when Android 12 launches around September.

Developers, it’s time to prepare for Android 12

Google is giving developers a heads up here, and want their apps to be ready for Android 12 in about a months time. And developers have quite a few features to add into their apps. Like the Privacy Dashboard, the Microphone and camera indicators as well as toggles. The new Clipboard read notification, Stretch Overscroll, App Splash screens and more. Developers, you can still test the libraries and SDKs in your app for compatibility. To make sure that there are no issues before you push your app to the Google Play Store. As always, you can still enroll in the Android Beta program to check out Android 12 Beta 4. In addition to the Pixel line, Android 12 Beta 4 is also available on devices from partners like ASUS, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp and ZTE, starting today. We’re not one step closer to getting Android 12 as a stable build on these devices. Which should happen around the beginning of September.
