According to the tweet, the Google Clock app will be getting a notable update pretty soon that will add some nice functionality to the app. The most notable new feature will be the ability to schedule alarms. When you set an alarm now, it’s set to either go off that day or on a certain day in the week that you indicate. However, there was never the option to set an alarm for a specific date later in the month. With this new update, you will gain that functionality. Say, you want it to set an alarm to go off on October 15th. You will be able to set an alarm for that day specifically. You will also be able to set a date for a recurring alarm to end. Another feature will add a preview for the clock’s screensaver. This way, you’ll be able to see how it’ll look before you set it.

The Google Clock app will get some tablet optimizations

These are great features to see if you are using the Google Clock app on your phone. However, when it comes to tablets, the company has some more surprises in store. With this new update, version 7.3, tablet users will see some notable changes. The timer, for instance, will show the countdown on the left side of the screen and the number pad on the right. While the timer is running, you will see an outline of the screen slowly wrap around the display as the time goes down. If this sounds familiar, this is similar to what Google Nest smart displays do. Other than that, we see some minor changes to the UI. The alarm cards will be bigger and take up more space. Other than that, we don’t expect to see many other visual changes. This is still good, as it shows that Google is still looking to make Android better for tablets.
