The affordable Galaxy flagship is currently picking up the new update in Brazil, with the OTA (over the air) download available for the Snapdragon-powered 4G LTE model. But it should now be only a matter of time before the rollout expands to other regions. You can also expect many other Galaxy smartphones and tablets to join the party in the coming days and weeks. According to a SamMobile report, the new firmware version is G780GXXU3AUH5. The OTA package weighs in at over 747 MB. Quite evidently, the latest update contains more than the vulnerability fixes for next month, though the changelog mentions nothing as such. Perhaps the Galaxy S20 FE is picking up One UI 3.1.1 features with the September update. One UI 3.1.1 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 earlier this month. Samsung has confirmed that the new features will also trickle down to older Galaxy flagships but One UI version will remain the same, i.e. One UI 3.1. One UI 3.1.1 will remain exclusive to the new foldables but we aren’t complaining as long as new features are coming. The Galaxy S21 series has already started receiving One UI 3.1.1 features. It appears the Galaxy S20 FE is next to join the fun. The publication notes that the Galaxy S21 phones didn’t receive many new features, bar a Bedtime Mode toggle in the status bar and “more advanced control over the phone’s processing speed”. So don’t be hopeful of getting a whole new experience with One UI 3.1.1. Mind you, it is still based on Android 11. Android 12-based One UI 4.0 will be the next big upgrade for Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S20 FE.

Galaxy S20 FE picks up September security update

If you’re using a Galaxy S20 FE LTE in Brazil, you should receive a new update anytime now if you haven’t already. You will be notified once the OTA update becomes available for your phone. You can also check for the update from your phone’s Settings app, under the Software update » Download and install menu. Users in other regions can also expect to receive this update in the coming days.
