Our money would be on an ultrasonic sensor, or something even more secure though.
Finally going under-display
Going with an under-display sensor has a few advantages for Google. For one, it keeps that design looking nice and sleek. Without having a dimple or circle on the back of the phone for the sensor. It also brings it up to date with its competitors and can better compete with Samsung and OnePlus. While we’d love to see Google bring back facial recognition, it’s probably a good idea that they didn’t. Considering we are starting to revert to wearing masks again, after the Delta variant has started to run rampant in the US and around the world. A fingerprint sensor is much easier to use than facial recognition while wearing a mask. Though we may see that return in a few years, once Google has perfected the technology a bit better. Since Soli wasn’t that great for anything other than facial recognition.
