He already fired the company’s top executives, and in the past couple of months, he threw a ton of ideas around. There’s a lot of speculation going around, on what’ll happen next, but only he knows what his plans are.

Vine may be coming back, courtesy of Elon Musk

That being said, if this report is to be believed, Vine may be coming back. Vine, for those of you who don’t know, was a short-form video that, which was ahead of its time, many would say. TikTok is, needless to say, one of the most popular apps in the world, for years now. Vine was basically the kickstarter of short-form video apps, but it did not see such success. The app shut down in 2016. Based on a report from Axios, Elon Musk told a group of engineers to work on a reboot of Vine. That reboot may actually be ready by the end of the year, based on the report. That doesn’t sound as plausible, but who knows. What’s interesting is that The Verge’s Alex Heath corroborated the news. He was actually amongst the first to report that Elon Musk wants to make a Twitter Blue subscription mandatory for verified users.

Musk actually asked his followers whether they’d like to see Vine back to the fold

Now, to make things even more interesting, Elon Musk actually launched a poll yesterday, on Twitter. He flat out asked his followers whether to bring back Vine, and after almost 5 million votes, 69.6% of them said yes. Truth be said, Elon Musk has his plate full at the moment. Well, considering how many companies he juggles around, he always has his hands full, but the Twitter acquisition took things to a whole new level. There are probably a ton of ideas in his head at the moment, and people are trying to stuff new ones in. He needs to be very careful, though, as he could easily make a misstep. We do feel that bringing back Vine will require a lot more time, as mentioned earlier. It’s unrealistic to expect it to arrive by the end of the year, but we’ll see.
