As phones become a more important part of our business lives, we share more important files and we share to more people at once. Back in the day, we could only send to one person at a time. Nowadays, however, some people pretty much run their entire business from their phones. This means that they’re most likely sharing ZIP files, PDFs, and all sorts of files. And, they’re not always sharing to only one person at a time.
Nearby Share now lets you send to groups of people
Nearby Share is a pretty quick and convenient means of sharing files. It doesn’t require the receiving party to dig into their Bluetooth settings and make themselves visible. All they have to do is tap the notification when it pops up on their device. From that point, the sender needs only to tap on the device they want to send to and the transfer is made; easy as pie. Since Google dropped a metric ton of features on Android recently, we got a new change to the Nearby Share feature. Instead of sending to one person at a time, you can now use Nearby Share to send to groups of people. This makes a lot of sense. Nearby Share is fast and convenient, but having to send files to one person at a time takes the speed and convenience out of it. This feature will be rolling out starting today. If your device doesn’t have it just yet, you might have to wait a few days for it to make it to you. Your device will need to have at least Android 6.0 to receive the feature though. So that’s worth keeping in mind even though most devices these days are probably running on a later version of Android than 6.0.
