As the deadline for unveiling the Surface Laptop Go 2 is ending, more rumors about the device show up through different sources. The Verge has spotted a product page on a Korean retailer website containing some information about the Surface Laptop Go 2. The retailer says pre-orders would be open on June 2. But the suggested specifications by the retailer might disappoint you. As per the listing, the Surface Laptop Go 2 features an 11th-gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The source also claims the upcoming product has a better webcam, and its battery can last up to 13.5 hours. The current Laptop Go battery lasts for around 13 hours. Based on the details here, neither CPU nor battery won’t offer a major upgrade.
Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Go 2 design won’t change much either
The Surface Laptop Go products are meant to be cheap and accessible for most people, so we can’t expect them to feature any high-end hardware. Zac Bowden of Windows Central has previously revealed some details about the upcoming Go 2 laptop, saying its design also won’t change much. Moreover, the Surface Laptop Go 2 might have an entry-level variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The price also starts from $549, in the same range as the current Surface Laptop Go. The details leaked by the Korean retailer align with the previous leaks around the product. If the pre-orders start from June 2, maybe we can get our hands on the Surface Laptop Go 2 in late June. Bowden also insisted on June as the month of unveiling the Go 2 laptop. Some Microsoft fans may be expected to see better hardware, a long-lasting battery, and a backlit keyboard on the Surface Laptop Go 2. But given that the price for the Go 2 laptop is similar to its predecessor, we can’t complain too much about it. Over the coming weeks, more accurate specifications of the Surface Laptop Go 2 will definitely leak out.
